Benjamin Braun

I am a political economist at the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies and a fellow at the Hertie School of Governance.

I study the political economy of finance, of economic institutions and policies, as well as the nexus between the two. I am currently writing a book about the political economy of asset manager capitalism, under contract with Chicago University Press.

On this website, you’ll find information about my publications, ongoing research projects, and teaching.

The blog section is titled ‘Assets and liabilities’; I’ll be using it to post—occasionally—about data that I use in my research and/or teaching.
